Actress opens up about Nancy Motes' death
Julia Roberts has spoken of her grief after her half-sister took her own life earlier this year.
Production assistant Nancy Motes, 37, was found dead in a water-filled bathtub in LA by her fiancé John Dilbeck in February, surrounded by a number of prescription medications and illegal drugs.
In an interview conducted nearly three weeks after the tragedy Julia admitted she was still struggling to deal with her sibling’s passing.
It’s just heartbreak,’ says Julia, 46.
It’s only been 20 days. There aren’t words to explain what any of us have been through in these last 20 days.
It’s hour by hour some days, but you just keep looking ahead.
Julia – who has three children with husband Danny Moder – has found comfort in the arms of her family since Nancy‘s passing.
You don’t want anything bad to happen to anyone, but there are so many tragic, painful, inexplicable things in the world,’ the actress tells WSJ Magazine.
But [as with] any situation of challenge and despair, we must find a way, as a family.
It’s so hard to formulate a sentence about it outside the weepy huddle of my family.’
