Could a romantic reunion be on the cards for Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez?

They formed one of the sweetest couples in pop history, but Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez‘s intense relationship – which started when Bieber was just 16 – broke down in 2014. Now the pair have reunited for a song about their break-up, released on Drake’s OVO Sound Radio last weekend.

The song, which Selena and Justin co-wrote among other authors, is called ‘Strong’. It features lyrics such as ‘What should I do? Should I go? Who do I talk to? Nobody knows. Who knows the answer to all of my questions? When will I get over this?’, sung by Bieber, while Selena sings: ‘There’s no sophistication in my lack of patience. I’m just wishing you were better at communication. I sit here steady waiting, wishing that you would call my name.’

So what does this mean for the former couple? Apparently, Justin thought that singing together would be ‘therapeutic’, a source told Hollywoodlife.com. But, with reports from The Mirror that the pair recorded the song separately, it is unclear whether this could mean that a reunion is on the cards – not yet, at least.

Justin recently opened up about his relationship with Selena in an interview with Complex magazine: ‘We were so in love. Nothing else mattered. I moved in with my girlfriend when I was 18. Started my own life with her. It was a marriage kind of thing,’ he said, admitting that the relationship was ‘too much at that age’. He also described himself as ‘scarred’ by their relationship, explaining that it still affects him when he dates other girls: ‘I’m shy about doing or saying certain things.’
