Pete's been public about wanting to adopt Harvey for years...
The former glamour model revealed the fact after discussing how it is Kieran who helps Harvey with his morning routines, and he now considers himself the 14-year-old’s real dad.
When discussing Dwight Yorke, who is the biological father of Harvey, allegedly having nothing to do with him, Katie revealed to OK! Magazine: ‘Like I always say, anyone can fill a pram, but it takes a real man to be a father. Kieran’s such a great dad to Harvey – he wants to adopt him…
‘I’d like Kieran to adopt Harvey.’
And Kieran Hayler, who’s been married to Katie since 2013 and has two kids with her, added: ‘I’ve alwas thought it would be good because I’d like us all to be connected. He is my child at the end of the day. Why not actually make him mine, because he feels like he’s mine anyway? He’s my stepson no matter what happens.’In 2009 Peter Andre told Now that he always wanted to adopt Harvey, but was unable to: ‘Unfortunately, I’m not allowed to adopt him and it’s not going to be an easy road. I love him.’
However, the star came under fire last week as he appeared to distance himself from Harvey in an interview with OK!: ‘After this baby, I think one more, possibly two. With the new baby we’ll already be a family of six, it’s crazy.
‘I don’t want to be 50 and changing nappies.’
But many pointed out that if Harvey were included, it would be a ‘family of seven’ instead.
Considering the two families have only just made up, let’s hope this isn’t a step in a bad direction.
