Is Katie Price trying to steal Peter Andre's reality TV thunder?
Who can forget Katie Price‘s pink-catsuit-clad attempt at representing Britain in the Eurovision Song Contest ten years ago? Well, just in case you had forgotten, she might be reminding us all by doing it all again.
Appearing on the ITV2 panel roast show Safeword, Katie was quizzed on her Eurovision attempt, and admitted it was a bit of a career low. She ended up losing out to Javine Hylton when the public voted for the UK’s representative.
‘I was seven months’ pregnant and I looked like a pink condom,’ Katie said of her performance. Just in case you need reminding of her song Not Just Anybody, here she is in action, although unfortunately she isn’t dressed as a pink condom here:
But despite being less than proud of her attempt at pop stardom, Katie revealed that she would be game for doing Eurovision again.
‘Never say never!’ she replied, when asked. ‘I might rectify it. Just for the laugh – we’re never going to win it.’
Given that the point of Safeword is for the guest – in this case, Katie – to be royally taken the mick out of, she may not have meant it, but her announcement couldn’t have come at a more coincidental time.
The day before Safeword aired, her ex husband Peter Andre was announced as a contestant for this year’s Strictly Come Dancing. Maybe Katie wants to go one better than his tango and give singing for the nation another shot?
If that is her plan, she’s got a while to wait. The next Eurovision Song Contest isn’t until May 2016, while Peter will be waltzing his way into Strictly this September.
We wouldn’t be surprised if Katie did give singing another go – after all, she’s always reminded us to ‘never underestimate the Pricey!’
