Katie Price opens up about her health concerns for disabled son Harvey, including her fears over his weight due to his active appetite

Katie Price has opened up about her worries over eldest child Harvey’s health – and in particular his weight – in her latest laid-bare interview.

In the second instalment of her ‘Katie Meets’ series for ITV’s This Morning, Pricey revealed how exhausting caring for her 13-year-old son – who has multiple disabilities including blindness, autism, ADHD and Prader-Willi syndrome – can be.

In intimate footage of Katie and Harvey’s home life, the mum of five revealed: ‘Looking after Harvey is an around the clock job. When he was born I could never have imagined the amount of attention and care he would require every day of his life.’

She also revealed that Harvey is becoming a typical teenager, saying: ‘I would say that Harvey’s most troubling symptoms are the behaviour. He’s got behavioural problems anyway, and he’s also going through puberty like a teenager – so I call it the ‘Kevin and Perry’ stage.’

She added: ‘His Prader Willi Syndrome is very challenging because all he wants to do is eat and he’s already overweight and it is a major health issue for him.’

The video footage also saw Katie meeting Catherine Krupinski, whose twin boys suffer from Fragile X Syndrome which contributes to severe learning difficulties and social anxieties.

It’s the second time Katie has discussed Harvey’s condition on This Morning. Last week saw the 37-year-old star open up on the realities of caring for Harvey, revealing that he has become interested in glass and has SMASHED some of the windows at Katie’s home.

‘It’s challenging, it’s hard work,’ Katie – who, in addition to Harvey, also has son Junior, 10, and daughter Princess, eight, from her marriage to Peter Andre as well as Jett, two, and one-year-old Bunny with hubby Kieran Hayler – explained on the ITV show.

‘On the VT you don’s get to see what it’s like in the morning,’ she said. ‘He wets his bed. He doesn’t know how to aim on the toilet so we’re constantly cleaning his toilet.

‘But that’s part and parcel of having Harvey and I would not change anything.

‘What Harvey wants, you have to go with it. You saw my windows – he’s into smashing windows at the moment.

‘If he doesn’t want to go to school, he’ll kick off. He knows how to manipulate people.’

Unsurprisingly, her honest talk won the former glamour model many supporters on social media, with viewers hailing the interview as ‘very refreshing.’
