Katie Price, the popstar - take four

Katie Price is nothing if not a trier.

From glamour modelling, to TV stardom, to a business in beauty, she’s tried her hand at many a career path and has had success that many could only dream of. One of her other enterprises has been in music, having made an ill-fated Eurovision bid in 2005, followed by an album with ex-husband Peter Andre the following year – and a single release in 2010. Oh, the Noughties…

Though her singing hasn’t quite made her a fortune, it has remained a passion – and she’s said to be making another attempt at pop stardom with a music relaunch as soon as this Summer!

Mum-of-five Katie isn’t shy about her passion for singing, and she even cracks out the odd tune during her regular stints on Loose Women, surprising the likes of The Voice‘s Jennifer Hudson with her abilities. However, insiders report that Katie is eager to take this passion a step further by making another attempt to forge a career in music.

‘Katie’s dreamt of being a pop star her whole life, she didn’t set out to be a Page 3 model but being a professional singer is her biggest ambition,’ a friend reported to The Sun.

‘People may laugh at the idea of her becoming a pop star but she has the grit and determination to make it big. The single is out later this year.’

Katie’s most recent attempt at taking the charts by storm was in 2010, when she released single Free To Love Again. At the time, she was married to cage fighter Alex Reid, and denied that it was inspired by first husband Peter. It peaked on the UK charts at number 60.

Before that, her Aladdin-tinged 2006 single duet with Peter, A Whole New World, fared better and reached number 12 at the height of its popularity.

Will THIS attempt be the one to cement her into the UK charts for good? Only time will tell – but until then, let’s all reminisce on how far she’s come…
