Singer Kelly Clarkson shares her happy news just over a year after the birth of her first child
Kelly Clarkson has emotionally revealed that she’s pregnant again.
The 33-year-old singer – who already has a one-year-old daughter, River Rose, with husband Brandon Blackstock – made the unexpected announcement during a concert in Los Angeles last night.
Though it seems that the crowd weren’t the only ones taken by surprise – Kelly herself was too!
‘I was not planning on announcing this. I’m totally pregnant again,’ the former American Idol champ told the audience at the Staples Center.
Fan Andrew Curry captured the moving moment and excitedly Tweeted about it:
Kelly’s shock revelation was met with loud cheers from her ecstatic fans and she went on to explain why she’d shared her news.
‘That was not planned. I just didn’t want you to think I was crazy,’ the music star confessed after a particularly emotional performance.
‘Honestly I’m just hormonal today. Nothing’s wrong. I’m okay.’
Kelly also shared a positive side to her pregnancy, telling the crowd: ‘I haven’t vomited yet! That’s a win y’all.’
We’re glad to hear it, Kels!
The singer has previously spoken of how her first pregnancy with River – who was born in June last year – wasn’t always easy as she had to battle various health concerns.
She revealed during a chat with Nick Grimshaw on BBC Radio 1 earlier this year that she was even hospitalised and confessed: ‘It was just kind of a bad pregnancy. So I had to take off way more time than normal.’
The experience clearly didn’t put Kelly off the idea of extending her family further though and she recently spoke about her desire to have more children.
In June she said: ‘After tour I want to start [trying] for the next one. It’s hard being a woman and wanting kids and fitting in your career.’
Kelly has two stepchildren, who Brandon had with his first wife Melissa Ashworth, and wanted her babies to be close in age like her stepkids are.
