Kristen Stewart has discussed her 'incredibly painful' (SOB) break-up with Twilight co-star Robert Pattinson in a new interview
And now Kristen has opened up about the sad split, describing it as ‘incredibly painful.’
The couple – who met on the set of the first Twilight film – dated for four years but split in 2013, just six months after the release of the franchise’s final instalment, Breaking Dawn: Part Two.
The too-beautiful pair owned an LA home together and were rumoured to be engaged, but the relationship eventually broke down after Kristen’s affair with Snow White director Rupert Sanders was revealed in 2012.
Talking about the break-up this week, Kristen confessed: ‘It was incredibly painful.’
She added: ‘Ugh, f*cking kill me.’
Speaking to The Daily Beast about new film Equals – which sees her fall in love with Nicholas Hoult in a bleak world where feelings have been eradicated, and which she shot shortly after her split from Rob – Kristen also revealed that the movie had helped her deal with the break-up.
‘It was a really good time for both of us to make this movie,’ she said.
‘Not all of my friends have been through what I’ve been through, or what some people have tasted at a relatively-speaking young age, and we were not expected to do anything. Everything that we did was explorative, and a meditation on what we already knew.’
Hinting at co-star Nicholas’s complicated love life – the star has had an on-off relationship with actress Jennifer Lawrence – Kristen continued: ‘We all felt akin by how much we’ve been through, and to utilise that is so scary.’
Speaking of the ‘bursting of bubbles’ and ‘shattering of dreams’ that a break-up brings, Kristen added: ‘Relationships. You just never f*cking know.’
We hear you, K-Stew.
It’s not all sad times though, as both parties have gone on to find love once more.
Rob is said to be engaged to his musician girlfriend FKA twigs, whilst Kristen has a new girlfriend in the shape of personal assistant Alicia Cargile.
Kristen’s mum, Jules Stewart, confirmed the relationship, telling the Sunday Mirror: ‘I’ve met Kristen’s new girlfriend, I like her. What’s not to accept? She’s a lovely girl.’
