Youngest of the Kardashian clan Kylie Jenner is celebrating her 18th birthday partying in Canada and being paid to do so. It's alright for some!
Turning 18 is a massive milestone. You’re finally an adult – or at least you think you are – and you no longer need to sneak blue WKDs to a house party as you can drink legally (and most likely overdo it, as Facebook photos will show the next morning…)
Well, that’s how most teens spend the big day anyway, but not if you’re part of one of the most famous families in the world.
Not-so-little Kylie Jenner is holding a good ol’ fashioned birthday party to celebrate her 18th birthday, and we doubt it’ll be a jelly and ice cream affair.
The youngest of the Kardashian/Jenner family is hosting her knees ups at the mini party island of Beachclub in Montreal, Canada, where the legal drinking age is 18, as opposed to America’s 21. Smart move there Kyles.
The party, which is being held on August 16th, is six days before her actual birthday, and has everything you’d expect from a Kardashian party. According to the club owner Olivier Primea, Kylie’s suggested itinerary involves flying into the party by helicopter, docking a luxury boat by a floating table of champagne, and blowing out candles on a £1,929 cake. You know, casual.
As if that wasn’t enough though, according to TMZ, the 17-year-old is said to be receiving a fee of £6,422 to attend. Her own birthday party.
Oh, what us mere mortals could do with all that £££…go on that dream holiday to Tahiti, have a shopping trip worthy of a Sex and the City scene, have a 10-course meal fit for a Royal, buy a boat, put a deposit down on our own flat and finally say au reviour to renting and then just throw whatever cash we had left up in the air and roll around in it like a cliché. Sigh. Well, back to reality.
Fans and party-goers can buy tickets ranging from £35 to £96 to party with the teen, and although this party may not be standard for a teenager’s birthday party, big sis Khloe Kardashian reminded us that Kylie was not your standard teen.
Speaking in Complex magazine, Khloe said: ‘Kylie is not a normal 17 year old. You’re not gonna say, ‘Hey, so what are you doing this weekend?’ and have her say, ‘Having a slumber party at my girlfriend’s,’ or ‘Going to prom.’
‘That’s not what Kylie does. Kylie is taking business meetings and bought her first house, or she’s going on a private plane with Karl Lagerfeld to take a meeting.’
True that. When we were 17, we were trying to figure out how to get into clubs and acting like Bambi on ice trying on heels. Not like junior Jenner who for her 17th birthday last year was partying with sis Kendall Jenner, Justin Bieber and Chris Brown at an LA nightclub.
A lot different to what she originally had planned for her 18th. Speaking to E! earlier in the year, Kylie revealed that she wanted to have a girly holiday: ‘I’m legal, so I can go on a trip legally without a chaperone, so that’ll be fun, just a girl trip.’
See that plan went out of the window then?
We’ll meet you on the floating island of endless champagne then yeah Kyles?
Is Kylie and Kendall’s Topshop collection actually flattering for us normals?
