Liam Payne has been experiencing the downsides to fame while in New York this week.

It’s not all fun and games being a pop star.

As One Direction’s Liam Payne has expressed in a series of tweets slamming intrusive fans and photographers.

The 21-year-old wrote: ‘Why is it that in New York people think it’s ok to swear and shout horrible things at you in the street… Just because u don’t feel like taking a picture because there’s paparazzi chasing you and you want to get your family and friends home safe.

‘One time id like to be able to see New York without being followed chased and cornered like an animal until other people get what they want’

A few moments later the hunky heartthrob then followed his rant up with one last post to his 20 million followers, stating: ‘I wish I was Harry potter’

We wish you were too… mainly so you Slytherin’ to our lives and make some magic.

Moving away from the Wizard based innuendos and back to the story; the One Direction boys are currently in New York for the debut performance of their new single Drag Me Down on Good Morning America later today.

Despite the track being their first offering as a four-piece following Zayn Malik’s shock departure in March, sales are still as strong as ever.

Within hours of its unexpected release on Friday, the song stormed to the top of iTunes charts around the world.

It also broke the Spotify record for the greatest number of streams in one single day, with 4.75 million plays in the first 24 hours.

Lets just hope the boys are able to get a little downtime in between the intense promotional trail they’ll be embarking on in the near future.
