She won’t appear at the Video Music Awards because of US visa dispute

Lily Allen has been dropped from the MTV Video Music Awards line-up – because of the row over her American visa.

The singer, 22, was quizzed by US immigration officers earlier this month over an alleged paparazzi attack in Britain and lost her work permit.

Now worried organisers have dropped her from the bill altogether because they weren’t prepared to wait to see if the matter could be resolved.

‘MTV were desperate to get Lily and they’re furious with her visa situation,’ a source tells the Daily Mirror.

‘They’ve decided to pull the plug because they didn’t want to leave it to the last minute to find out if she could or couldn’t make it.’

Looks like Lily doesn’t have much to Smile about.
