Loose Women Andrea McLean and Anita Dobson pose topless for WI’s 100th birthday
You’ll want to tune into today’s episode of Loose Women as you’ll see the women as you’ve never seen them before!
And if you’re wondering if they’ve done this because they’ve realised they’re now exhibitionists, then think again.
This is all to celebrate and mark the WI’s 100th birthday – hip hip hooray!
The Women’s Institute was formed in Britain back in 1915 to encourage women to get stuck in with producing food during the First World War.
Since then, it’s grown into becoming one of the largest voluntary women’s organisations in the UK, and has over 212, 000 members – with one very important member indeed. Only her Royal Majesty, the Queen herself
The women talked more about what they’ll be doing tocelebrate the big centenary birthday on Loose Women, on ITV at 12.30pm.
During the show, the Loose Women, including Strictly participant this year Jamelia, got involved in some good ol’ fashioned afternoon tea, proving jam and scones to the audience.
Eastenders legends June Brown and Anita Dobson even popped down to the studios to say hello and talk about the big event!
The inspiration behind these photos came from back in 1999, when the women of the Rylstone Women’s Institute decided to strip off their yearly calendar, after being inspired by the death of member Angela Baker’s husband, John, who sadly lost his battle against non-Hodgkins lymphonma.
All their friends for involved and the calendar sold 88, 000 copies in the UK – wowsers!
The innovative and inspiring photoshoot changed the image of the WI forevermore, as well as the perception of older women.
We feel inspirited and proud just talking abou it – looking good ladies!
