The Married at First Sight couple are STILL together - yay!

Meeting your husband-to-be for the first time at the altar sounds like a recipe for disaster.

But Channel 4’s Married At First Sight’s Emma Rathbone and James Ord-Hume have defied the odds and are currently celebrating five months of wedded bliss! Congrats!

Although she admitted on the show to not fancying her new husband at first, events manager Emma has confessed she felt relieved to see a welcoming face on their wedding day.

Talking to Philip Schofield on This Morning, the 32-year-old said: ‘It was a friendly face at the end of the aisle. I felt utter relief.’ And when Philip asked if a friendly face was a good way to start a marriage, Emma smiled and said: ‘It’s a good start.’

University course co-ordinator James, 33, also spoke of his nervousness at marrying a complete stranger. He told Philip: ‘I was all over the shop. I thought she looked great. It took a while to process it all. I was a little bit jumbled.’

Explaining the reason they applied for the show which was filmed in April, James said: ‘Initially I thought it was very interesting, I was curious and wanted to find out more. As you go through the different stages, I thought, why not?’

His wife Emma added: ‘Ideally, I would have liked to do this without the TV, without any of this”.

The pair were matched up by personality tests from experts and filmed for their first five weeks of marriage before choosing whether to stay wed or get a divorce.

And it seems that their 94 per cent paper score has spilled over in real-life.

However, it’s not quite as happy news for another of the show’s couples  – Kate Stewart and Jason Knowles. The pair have divorced after he was found looking at other women on dating app Tinder. Awkward!
