Single Mel is supported by Spice Girls

Mel C admits many of her friends have tried to introduce her to guys since she’s been single – even Victoria Beckham.

Unfortunately the singer – who split from Thomas Starr, the father of her daughter Scarlet, back in 2012 – isn’t keen on meeting anyone through a mutual pal.

Victoria introduced me to someone,’ says Mel, 40.

I think it’s really difficult, isn’t it? Someone who thinks, he’s so lovely… Yes, he’s lovely, but I so don’t fancy him!

All of my girlfriends are like: “I’d like you to meet such-and-such a person.” It raises the stakes when it’s a friend of a friend.

You have to meet people naturally, organically.’

Mel is quite happy as she is but admits that being a single mum to Scarlet, 5, can be challenging at times.

Luckily her friends and fellow Spice Girls are always on hand to give her some support when she needs it.

The lovely thing about us girls, and the ethos of the Spice Girls, is the whole “girl power” thing,’ says Mel.

As time’s gone on it’s become more important to us.

We really support each other; a few of us have got girls and we want to instil that in them as well.’
