It looks like the pair haven't spoken since their bitter break up
But despite the discouraging words of modern-day cupid Nadia Essex, the reality stars defied the ‘showmance’ odds and really made a go of things – even boldly defining their relationship as ‘perfect’.
Well, that was until a few months later when US native, Steph flew back to LA, broke up with Joey over the phone and hasn’t seen her ex since. Awks…
The reality star – who rose to fame on The Hills before moving across the pond to star in Made in Chelsea – has now spoken out about the pair’s break up for the first time and it turns out the former couple are NOT on good terms.
When asked whether she still speaks to the Essex lad, 31-year-old Steph told OK! magazine: ‘No, he hates me! I have no idea why he dislikes me so much but he did In Bed With Jamie [Laing] and said some rude things about me.’
SO, what exactly did Joey say? Well, he joked to Steph’s MIC co-star that the relationship only lasted three months and hinted the pair split because it wasn’t balanced and ‘a relationship should be two ways’.
But it looks like there’s definitely no love lost between these two, as Steph also added that she hasn’t had any contact with her former boyfriend since they split last year, as she revealed: ‘We broke up over the phone when I was in LA and I’ve not seen him since.’The celeb couple called it quits back in October after it was reported that Joey, 26, didn’t like spending all his time travelling to Chelsea.
‘Joey wasn’t up for spending every minute in Chelsea with Stephanie,’ a source told The Sun at the time. ‘He genuinely fell for her and even though they were an unlikely couple, he hoped it could turn into something more serious.
‘But he realised it was never going to work with him spending so much time away from home.’
Aw. Here’s hoping Joey can return to Celebs Go Dating for a third series and finally find love – because it just wouldn’t be the same without him…
