Ooh! Strictly 2010 partners Kara Tointon and Artem Chigvintsev have kept in touch since their split
The 31-year-old actress started dating Artem, 32, after they won Strictly Come Dancing together in 2010. But sadly in October she revealed they were no longer together.
But we’re excited to hear that Kara and Artem are still in touch, even whilst Russian pro Artem is working in America.
‘Well, he went to do Dancing With The Stars in the States because of visa issues here,’ says Kara. ‘But we’re still very good friends. I’m OK. You never know what might happen in the future.’
Eek! Does this mean there’s a chance of a Kara and Artem reunion one day? We hope so!
Single Kara is clearly a busy lady at the moment though. She’s joined the cast of Mr Selfridge as Rosalie Selfridge, daughter of the store’s founder Harry, and has real life sister Hannah playing her on-screen sibling Violette.
Since filming the latest series, Kara has found herself being linked to co-stars Jeremy Piven (who plays her dad in the show… weird) and Grégory Fitoussi after being snapped with them.
‘Well, both times we were always out with a load of people but it looks pretty bad, doesn’t it,’ the actress quips.
Luckily French star Grégory is rather easy on the eye so Kara isn’t too fazed by the speculation.
‘He’s not bad looking,’ jokes Kara. ‘I don’t mind being linked with him.’
We wouldn’t either, Kara! As for Jeremy, Kara denies that he’s ever been flirtatious with her or her sister Hannah.
‘But he’s been lovely; very welcoming and extremely encouraging,’ she says.
It’s great to see how well things are going for Kara. The former EastEnders star is open about the fact that she did Strictly for the money after struggling to get acting jobs, but soon realised that it was actually a great career move.
‘It turned into this special experience,’ she tells Weekend Magazine. ‘I’d almost given up acting at the time because I was struggling to get work, although my agent tells me I must stop telling people how desperate I was because it makes me sound like a loser.
‘I was worried about going down the reality show route, but in hindsight it worked.’
Watch Kara in Mr Selfridge on ITV at 9pm on Sundays.
