Radio 1 DJ has some famous listeners, including royalty!

Nick Grimshaw has revealed that his Radio 1 show attracts some rather prestigious listeners.

The DJ, who has hosted the station’s Breakfast Show since September 2012, was stunned to learn that Prince William and his pregnant wife Kate Middleton are reportedly fans.

Now he’s hoping that their new arrival, due in April, might listen too.

‘The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge [are my most unexpected listeners],’ says Nick, 30.

‘Gemma Cairney met them and apparently they told her they were always up early and listened to The Breakfast Show.

‘I think Prince George is a fan and hopefully the new baby will be!’

We wonder if the royal couple would ever make an appearance on Nick’s show?

Since taking over the morning slot Nick Grimshaw has welcomed countless celebrity guests including Kim Kardashian, who taught him how to take the best pictures of himself.

‘She couldn’t stop taking selfies!’ the DJ admits.

‘She showed me how to take the perfect one – it’s all about lighting and angles. She’s a pro!

‘It was weird meeting her in real life. And her bum is seriously massive!’

Some stars have a reputation for being awkward but luckily Nick hasn’t had too many uncomfortable interviews.

‘Everyone is flogging something and they’re aware radio is live so no one wants to come across as difficult,’ he explains.

‘Jesse Eisenberg was deliciously awkward, but I like that about him.’

One guest who did go down well with Nick was Naomi Campbell.

The supermodel took him out on a random dinner date after appearing on The Radio 1 Breakfast Show, much to Nick’s surprise.

‘Often people on my show tell me they want to hang out afterwards but they don’t really mean it,’ says Nick.

‘But she did! She took my number, then texted me later saying she had booked a table at 9pm. I couldn’t believe it!’
