Nicola McLean reveals the secrets of Corrie star Michelle Keegan's big day

When Michelle Keegan tied the knot to Mark Wright last month, she wanted her seven closest friends by her side as bridesmaids.

The Coronation Street star asked school friend Beckie Hatch to be her maid of honour, stepsister Nichola Norman and her cousins Gemma Smith, Katie Fearnehough and Lauren Bell were all bridesmaids as well as Mark’s sisters, Jessica and Natalya.

And Nicola McLean, who attended the wedding at Hengrave Hall estate in Suffolk has revealed why seven was the 28-year-old’s lucky number on her big day.

Speaking at the Now summer party to launch our Smart Girls Fake It summer skin care campaign with Superdrug, she told us: ‘It’s no wonder Michelle needed seven bridesmaids – her dress was humongous.’

Michelle wore a bespoke ivory fishtail gown designed by Galia Lahav. The 33-year-old added: ‘I saw her going to the toilet and she had to bring three of them in there to help her lift it up. They had to keep the door open because the tail was hanging out.’

Nicola, who went to the wedding with her husband Tom Williams, gushed about the blushing bride.

She added: ‘She looked absolutely beautiful. It was a fantastic day. It was one of those weddings where everyone really enjoyed themselves. Everything was perfect and she was so happy.’

Mark and Michelle got married at the end of May before jetting off on a two week holiday to the Maldives then onto Dubai.

They flew their families out to join them for the last few days of their break.

Mark’s brother, Josh Wright, posted a video of the family screaming as they enjoyed a water slide ride.

Among those on the water ring were Michelle, Josh, Mark Wright Senior, Carol Wright and Josh’s girlfriend, Hollie Kane.
