X Factor judges Simon Cowell, Cheryl Fernadez-Versini, Nick Grimshaw and Rita Ora are getting their very own emojis just in time for the new series
We’ve seen them looking glam in their official photos, and even seen them as robots in the trailer for the new series, but here’s a guise we’ve NEVER seen the X Factor judges in – emoji form.
The judging panel – made up of old favourites Simon Cowell and Cheryl Fernandez-Versini along with new judges Nick Grimshaw and Rita Ora – have been transformed into cute emojis in celebration of the new series.
And best of all, they’ll be available for all to use when the very first show airs this Saturday night.
Responding to a fan on Twitter who asked whether they could get the cute icons the show’s official account wrote back: ‘Yes! They will become active across Twitter on Saturday night.’
The emojis were first revealed in a video on social media as it was announced that this year the public will get to decide which category – boys, girls, groups or over 25s – each judge will mentor.
Viewers will be encouraged to share their choice on Twitter using a hashtag – such as #SimonGirls or #CherylGroups.
Full details will be given during the first show on Saturday, when the vote will open. It will close on Tuesday 1 September at 12pm.
Sadly there’s no sign of hosts Caroline Flack and Olly Murs in the emoji line-up (insert sad face emoji here), which is a shame – but we still can’t wait to get the Simon, Cheryl, Nick and Rita icons. Oh the fun to be had!
The news comes as the judges opened up to Now magazine about their excitement ahead of the show.
Cheryl spoke of her ‘new energy’, before saying of new judge Nick: ‘I think Grimmy is going to be a massive revelation. He’s funny, he’s smart, he is actually crucial to what is happening in the music world right now.’
Meanwhile, the new man himself had some fighting talk for head honcho Simon when it came to the show’s inevitable fash-off, telling us: ‘Style wars with Simon? He hasn’t got a chance!’
And Rita revealed: ‘If you can handle me flirting, you can handle being on The X Factor.’ Oo-er!
The X Factor starts this Saturday at 8pm on ITV
