Alex Terzieff doubled for Jamie Dornan in Fifty Shades Of Grey but wasn't sure what he was letting himself in for
The hot actor bares his buff bod to play kinky businessman Christian Grey in the big screen adaptation of EL James‘ raunchy novel. With a whopping 20 minutes of the film taken up by sex scenes, Jamie spends a lot of time half-naked for steamy bedroom antics with co-star Dakota Johnson.
But there are certain bits of footage in the flick which Jamie, 32, simply couldn’t do and required the services of a stuntman.
No, we’re not talking about THOSE scenes! While the racier moments in Fifty Shades were all Jamie (yay!), stunt double Alex Terzieff was brought in to do the high-speed driving scenes.
Alex, 40, wore a wig and dressed like Jamie to take the wheel of a speedy car in his place. The professional stuntman also did a Master Cleanse before filming started to have a slimmer frame.
Despite the huge publicity surrounding the movie, Alex didn’t know anything about Fifty Shades when he signed up, leading to much amusement amongst his family when he said he’d be doing stunts for the sexy flick.
‘I must have been the only person who had no clue what it was,’ he admits.
‘I told my wife that I got called to do stunts on Fifty Shades of Grey, and she and my mother, they just laughed at me and said, “We cannot believe that you do not know what that is… and furthermore, what kind of stunts are you doing!?”‘
Alex, who has previously worked on films including The Dark Knight Rises, knew he wouldn’t be required to do any bedroom scenes though. He says: ‘For me as a stuntman, there wouldn’t be any sex-scene-type stuff unless somebody was getting caught by their spouse and going out a second-storey window or something.’
While Alex did Christian Grey‘s stunt driving, Jamie was busy filming the more intimate scenes of the movie in a different location and so the two Christians never got to meet. Alex can see some similarities between them though.
‘It was kind of interesting. I didn’t know of Jamie Dornan before, but when they told me, I looked him up – I have his colouring,’ he tells the New York Post. ‘He’d probably be insulted if he heard me say that.
‘Since he’s an actor, I’m sure he’s much better-looking and in better shape than I am.’
