No one saw this coming...
Ever since Mary Berry, Mel Giedroyc and Sue Perkins announced they were leaving the Great British Bake Off – we’ve been desperate to find out who will be replacing them.
And after months of speculation we’ve FINALLY been put out of our misery as the full line-up for the new show has been revealed.
And it’s so weird…
We already revealed cookery writer and presenter Prue Leith would be stepping into Mary’s shoes when the revamped GBBO launches on Channel 4 this year but now Mel and Sue’s replacements have also been reported.
And it’s been announced that comedians Noel Fielding and Sandi Toksvig will be taking on the massive role as presenters of the much-loved show.
Well, we didn’t see that one coming!
Channel 4 revealed the show’s new line-up ahead of the show’s first series since leaving the BBC and last remaining original, Paul Hollywood is reportedly VERY excited about his new co-stars and said: ‘I could not be more delighted by who will be joining me on the show.’
Prue Leith has also spoken out about her new role, revealing she is ‘so thrilled to be joining… the biggest show on TV’.
Speaking about his new gig, Noel said: ‘GBBO is one of my favourite shows.
‘I’ve always loved brightly coloured cakes and Sandi Toksvig so this is a dream come true for me!
‘It’s basically the double.’
While QI host Sandi gushed about her co-host: ‘Noel Fielding is one of the nicest guys in show business. The first time I met him I felt like I had met a rather wayward cousin whose take on the world made me laugh.’
Before joking: ‘The only down side is that he has much better dress sense that I do. I spend my daytimes on Channel 4 already so it will be a treat to be there in the evenings.’
Well, we CAN’T WAIT to see these lot on the new show.
Let us know what you think about the new line up @Celebsnow!
