Singer Zayn wasn't a model student

One Direction star Zayn Malik did some silly things when he was a youngster.

The sexy singer, 19 – who was a pupil at Tong High School in Bradford – landed himself in serious trouble when he took a weapon to class.

‘I once got in trouble for having a BB gun at school,’ Zayn has confessed during an interview with a US radio station.

‘I didn’t shoot anyone, I just had it.

‘It wasn’t even mine but I got done for having an imitation firearm.’

Despite the incident with the BB gun, a type of air gun usually used for bird hunting, Zayn doesn’t believe he really deserves the reputation as One Direction’s bad boy.

‘But it’s cool. I’ll take it,’ Zayn tells Now’s Dan Wootton.

‘I
think my reserved personality is sometimes taken the wrong way and
that’s why people just perceive me as a bad boy whereas I’m actually
just a little bit shy and awkward.’
