Anne Hathaway and James Franco will take over from Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin

Anne Hathaway and James Franco will present the 2011 Oscars.

The pair will take over from Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin, who fronted this year’s Academy Awards.

James Franco and Anne Hathaway personify the next generation of Hollywood icons – fresh, exciting and multi-talented,’ say Oscar producers Bruce Cohen and Don Mischer.

Anne, 28, was nominated for a Best Actress Oscar for Rachel Getting Married in 2009.

James, 32, has been tipped to get a Best Actor nod for his role in 127 Hours.

The 83rd annual Academy Awards will take place at LA’s Kodak Theatre on 27 February.
