Dad-of -three Peter Andre has signed up for Strictly... but only once he got the green light from new wife Emily
Peter Andre recently admitted he’s be playing house husband – doing the cooking, cleaning and looking after the kids – after new wife Emily MacDonagh started work as a doctor.
But his Mrs Doubtfire role won’t be sticking for long – he’ll soon be slipping on his sequins and getting stuck into the Strictly Come Dancing rehearsals. Eeek – we’re excited!
And while Pete is getting excited about his new jaunt on reality TV, he will reveal today that he didn’t sign on the dotted line until he had permission from Emily.
Pete is due to be on Free Radio’s Jo and Sparky show where he will say: ‘Of course I asked her permission. Guys, ‘I wear the trousers, but she picks ’em for me’. She picks the colours, the size, the belt.
‘I mean, you have to ask permission.’
Yes, Peter you do! Emily, we’re liking your style!
Pete continues: ‘She’s already sending me pictures of sparkly outfits with smiley faces at the end. It came about because Strictly have been kind enough to ask me for the last three years.’
Peter joins Irish singer Danny O’Donnell, weather presenter Carol Kirkwood, BBC Proms star Katie Derham, former Coronation Street actress Georgia May Foote, EastEnders star Kellie Bright , TV chef Ainsley Harriott and BBC host Jeremy Vine on the 13th series of the Saturday night dance contest.
But despite those ab-rippling moves that we all know too well from the Mysterious Girl video (who can forget!), Pete, 42, is insisiting he doesn’t have an advantage over his fellow contestants.
He says: ‘How do we know that the weather lady doesn’t go home and underneath her weather costume is sparkles and she is unbelievable?
‘What about Ainsley Harriott? He’s good with his hands, but with his feet?
‘What he doesn’t know is I’m gonna be picking his brain about cooking, I’m gonna exhaust him. It’s distraction.’
Nice to see you’ve already got some sneaky tactics up those lycra sleeves, Pete.
