As Emily MacDonagh finally starts her career as a doctor, new hubby Peter Andre is left at home with the kids
It looks like the honeymoon period is well and truly over for Peter Andre and his new wife Emily MacDonagh following their wedding three weeks ago, as today saw Emily start her new job as a doctor – leaving Pete at home to look after the kids.
After years of studying, Emily finally gets to put all her training into practice today as she embarks on a career as a doctor. (Just IMAGINE turning up at the clinic to discover that your appointment is with Peter Andre’s wife!).
A newlywed Peter spoke about Emily’s first day on Twitter this morning. Replying to a fan who wished his wife well, he wrote: ‘Thanks Hillary, she left early this morn :)’
And with Emily at work busily treating patients, we assume Pete is at home on daddy duty.
The Mysterious Girl singer is free of work commitments until the end of the week, when he will be visiting towns including Woking, Newport and Llanelli as part of a signing tour for his new fragrance, Breeze.
Until then we imagine he’s at home being a dutiful dad and husband, looking after his brood of kids – Junior, ten, and Princess, 8, and nineteen-month-old Amelia – and hopefully making Emily a nice meal for when she comes home knackered.
Emily finally qualified as a doctor in January having balanced her studies with pregnancy and the birth of her first child with Pete.
At the time, Pete took to Instagram to congratulate his love, writing: ‘She’s only gone and done it – Emily passed her final exams. Dr Emily Macdonagh, sounds great doesn’t it? So so proud.’
And after their wedding in July, Emily spoke of her desire to further her career.
Asked about plans for a second baby, the 25-year-old said: ‘I just want to work for a bit first and then we will [try for a second baby]. My career is important to me and it’s taken me a long time to get here [to be a qualified doctor] but I’m still only young.’
She added: ‘I want to give it my best shot. If I feel like I’m progressing really well [in my career], I might leave it another year.’
Good luck from the team at Now, Dr Emily!
