Despite starting out as one of the favourites, Pete wasn't too upset about being booted off Strictly
The 42-year-old star, who was booted off the show in week 10 with dance partner Janette Manrara, has confessed that he was starting to find the gruelling schedule all a bit too much.
‘I was starting to get a little stressed and it was taking its toll,’ says Pete.
‘Although I would have been doing the Salsa the following week and I felt confident I would have done very well in that dance, I probably would have had to take my shirt off – I’m kind of glad that didn’t happen!’
Awww Pete, don’t be so hard on yourself! You’ve got excellent experience when it comes to getting your chest out, after all…
The singer admits that he felt like a ‘weight’ had been lifted from his shoulders following his Strictly exit and, speaking of pounds, he dropped quite a few from his figure during his time on the show.
In fact Pete thinks he might have lost a little too much weight and is quite happy to put it back on over the upcoming festive season.
‘I weighed 73kg and went down to 70kg, which is what I was in my Mysterious Girl days,’ the dad-of-three explains to OK! magazine.
‘I think I began to look gaunt, so I don’t mind if the weight goes back on over Christmas.’
Quick, somebody get Pete a round of mince pies stat!
We bet the TV star is looking forward to having lots of family time during the holidays following his busy Strictly experience.
Pete – who has son Junior, 10, and daughter Princess, 8, from his marriage to Katie Price as well as 23-month-old Amelia with wife Emily MacDonagh – should probably enjoy the relative peace this year as he MIGHT have another new addition next year…
‘It would be lovely to have another baby by next Christmas,’ he says. Ooh, what a present that would be!
