Romance is alive and well for Peter Andre and his new wife Emily

They tied the knot last weekend at the gorgeous Mamhead House in Devon, and Peter Andre and Emily MacDonagh couldn’t be happier.

In his speech at the wedding reception, Pete, 42, revealed that he knew Emily, 25, would become his wife from the moment he met her, saying: “I knew that day I wanted to marry her. I felt it 100 percent.”

Pete reminded the guests how he and Emily, who recently graduated as a doctor, met. Her dad Ruaraidh operated on Pete back in 2010 when he had kidney stones, and the Mysterious Girl singer wasted no time in asking Ruaraidh, known as Dr Ru, if he could date his daughter.

Addressing his speech to Emily, he said : “I knew [I wanted to marry you] from the minute I asked permission from your father to date you!”

Luckily for Pete, Dr Ru made it clear he approves of his new son-in-law, saying in his own speech that he didn’t have a ‘shred of doubt’ about their relationship.

In a nod to the groom’s Cypriot heritage, there was a raucous round of plate-smashing at the reception, after Pete had serenaded his bride with a rendition of Frank Sinatra’s Fly Me To The Moon.

The couple, who shared their wedding snaps with OK! magazine, were surrounded by their closest friends and family, with Pete’s best friend of over 30 years, George Nicolaou, as best man.

Pete’s children Junior and Princess, with his ex wife Katie Price, were also celebrating with their dad, who called Emily an ‘incredible mum’ in his speech – the couple had daughter Amelia 18 months ago.

We’re not sure Pete could be any cuter about his new wife. Whoever said romance was dead has obviously never visited the Andre-MacDonagh household!
