'In the darkness there is always light ahead,' the former TOWIE star posted
Life is pretty great right now for Maria Fowler, with the glamour girl currently expecting her first child with boyfriend Kelvin Batey.
But it was a different story three years ago, when darker days saw the former TOWIE star try to commit suicide.
Today saw Maria take to Instagram to both remember that sad period in her life and celebrate her new-found happiness and impending motherhood with an emotional message.
Writing over an image of candy-coloured clouds, the star posted: ‘3 years ago I was in hospital after trying to take my own life.
‘Today we are putting all the nursery furniture together… You should never be made to feel worthless and never ever feel like life isn’t worth living.
‘In the darkness there is always light ahead.’
Maria’s 109k fans soon congratulated her on how far she’s come since her suicide attempt and encourage her as she heads towards motherhood.
One wrote: ‘I am so glad you have found inner peace. Becoming a mother, you will never let that thought cross your mind again for sure. Good luck with everything ❤️’
Another added: ‘Aww.. So happy for you, you come across as a totally different person today as you were then, it just shows that time really is a great healer and you’ve hopefully met your soul mate and will be together forever 💕’
Maria and Kelvin are currently enjoying a holiday together before their bundle of joy arrives later this year, with the star admitting she was ‘unsure’ of showing off her bump in a bikini.
Sharing a bikini snap on Instagram, she wrote: ‘Enjoying my holidays, was unsure weather to show my bump around the pool and apprehensive that I have put on over a stone but I’m so glad I took bikinis with me and had so many lovely comments.
‘I think it’s important to be confident in yourself and having a healthy baby is the most important thing 💖’
Hear, hear Maria!
