Wills is besotted with Kate now, but we reveal the women who could have been our future Queen
Prince William’s first love: Rose Farquhar, 28.
A wannabe actress and singer, Rose has known the prince since they were children.
The daughter of Captain Ian Farquhar, Master of the Beaufort Hunt, she dated William briefly in the summer of 2000, just after an 18-year-old he had finished Eton.
Known as Rosie Pose‘ by Wills, the pair are still close friends and, according to many royal circles, she is considered to have been the prince’s first love.
Prince William’s old friend: Jecca Craig, 28.
His most famous ex, William and Jecca have been friends since meeting when they were 16 at her family’s 55,000-acre estate in Lewa, Kenya.
The prince was reportedly so enamoured by the brunette, they staged a mock engagement when he returned to Kenya on his gap year.
Now a literary agent, Jecca‘s also the only woman in William‘s life to have been officially mentioned regarding his love life.
In 2003, a Clarence House statement denied that the pair were a couple – even though she was guest of honour at his Out of Africa-themed 21st birthday party.
However, the following year, when William and Kate were on a break, he celebrated the New Year with Jecca and in 2008 he even missed his cousin Peter Phillips‘ wedding to attend the nuptials of her brother Batian.
The pair are still friends, with Wills visiting Kenya almost every year, and last year he took Kate to the Craig Estate after he had proposed in Kenya.
Prince William’s crush: Isabella Anstruther-Gough-Calthorpe, 31.
While Isabella was definitely in William‘s life there is a some disagreement over whether he and the striking socialite-turned-actress from Winchester officially dated.
But his infatuation with her was reason enough for Kate to briefly call time on their romance.
She reportedly instigated the break after Wills ignored her and chatted with Isabella all night at a black tie ball in 2004.
The daughter of banking heiress Lady Mary-Gaye Curzon rejected the advances of the prince- who’s her fourth cousin once removed – and he and Kate were soon back on.
Prince William’s uni romance: Olivia Hunt, 28.
William briefly dated aspiring writer Olivia during his first year at St Andrews University, where they met.
Their romance soon fizzled out as William and Kate became closer.
But the trio are all friends and have gone skiing together at Prince Charles’s favourite resort, Klosters.
Prince William’s fling: Arabella Musgrave, 28.
The daughter of Major Nicholas Musgrave, manager of Cirencester Park Polo Club, dated Wills in 2001 before he went to St Andrews.
However, the pair broke up during their first term.
Now head of PR at Gucci, Arabella is not only still good pals with William but she’s forged a friendship with Kate, too.
