X factor Scouser may play Robbie Williams in new musical

X Factor runner-up Ray Quinn is being lined up to play Robbie Williams in a new Take That musical to hit the West End.

The 18-year-old Scouser – who came second to Leona Lewis in last year’s show – was described as a ‘young Robbie Williams’ by judge Simon Cowell during the auditions.

Now it looks as if Ray could end up playing the man himself on stage.

He tells The Sun: ‘Take That: The Musical sounds like a great idea. I can’t wait.

‘What an amazing honour to be asked to play someone who has had so much influence on me over the past few years. Robbie’s album Swing When You’re Winning was great and further convinced me that it was that type of music I loved.

‘The musical is still in the early planning stages but, provided it goes ahead, it will start towards the end of 2007.’

We reckon Ray’s a dead ringer for a young Robbie. What do you think? Log on to our forum and get chatting
