We take a look at where the stars of much-loved romcom Father Of The Bride have ended up...

Everybody loves a good wedding movie and they don’t come much better than the awesome 1990s romcom Father Of The Bride.

Comedy legend Steve Martin totally reminded us of our dads (or maybe a funnier and more American version) when he so hilariously played overprotective father George Banks, who was struggling to come to terms with having to give his daughter away at her nuptials following her whirlwind romance. Cue lots of amusing mishaps and bonkers shenanigans as George totally lost his cool.

It all came good in the end of course and we got the happy ever after we so love. With a stellar cast and funny script, Father Of The Bride has remained one of our fave nostalgic flicks.

But what do the actors look like now, and what have they been up to since Annie and Bryan‘s wedding? Read on to find out…

Steve MartinGeorge Banks

The legendary Steve Martin, now 69, continued to tickle our funny bone after the film with roles in comedy flicks including Bowfinger and Cheaper By The Dozen, not to mention the Father Of The Bride sequel (inventively named Father Of The Bride Part II). He’s also dabbled in writing and producing. Steve – who’s been married twice – wasn’t a father in real life until 2012, when he welcomed a baby girl with wife Anne Stringfield.

Diane KeatonNina Banks

Lovely Diane Keaton, 69, played dependable mum Nina. Back in the day Diane was Woody Allen‘s muse and she’s continued to be in demand over the years, having starred in lots of successful movies. Most notably she won an Oscar in 2004 for her role in Something’s Gotta Give. Like co-star Steve Martin, Diane became a parent later in life – she adopted a daughter in 1996 when she was 50, and then a son in 2001.

Kimberly Williams-Paisley Annie Banks

Pretty Kimberly Williams-Paisley, 43, was perfect as young bride Annie, who decided to get hitched to a man she’d only known for three months and totally put her dad through the ringer. Along with the rest of the main cast she returned for the sequel but has mainly worked in TV since, having most recently appeared in According To Jim and Two And A Half Men. Kimberly is married to country singer Brad Paisley and they have two sons called William and Jasper.

Kieran CulkinMatty Banks

Kieran Culkin, 32, starred as cute little brother Matty. The brother of Home Alone star Macaulay Culkin, Kieran went on to appear in another awesome 1990s romcom, She’s All That (check it out immediately), and earned critical acclaim for his performance in 2003 flick Igby Goes Down. There were rumours of a third Father Of The Bride film in the works in 2014 which would focus on the gay marriage of Kieran‘s character Matty, but there’s been no news on this since…

George Newbern Bryan MacKenzie

Think George Newbern, 50, looks familiar? After playing handsome groom Bryan, you might have seen George in Friends as Rachel‘s brief love interest Danny (aka the Yeti). He’s been in several hit TV series over the years and recently had a long-running role in Scandal. George has three kids with wife Marietta DePrima.

Martin Short Franck Eggelhoffer

Who could forget Martin Short, 64, who played the eccentric wedding dress designer Franck Eggelhoffer? The hilarious actor has been hugely successful in comedy and has worked in TV, film and even on stage. Sadly Martin‘s wife Nancy Dolman passed away following a cancer battle in 2010 after 30 years of marriage. They had three children together.
