Sir Rod is just the CUTEST

He may be a megastar singer with fans across the globe, but it seems nothing give legendary rocker Rod Stewart more pleasure than watching one of his kids slaying at life.

The Maggie May star melted his fans’ hearts last night as he got *super* excited about the achievements of his son, Liam Stewart, on Instagram.

Liam, 22, – Rod’s second child with former wife Rachel Hunter – is a professional ice hockey player, and last night saw his score his first international goal for his country – leaving his famous dad beaming with pride.

The 72-year-old singer revealed he was ‘so proud’ of his son, revealing that the special moment brought him to tears. Aww!

 

Taking to Instagram, Sir Rod shared a video of himself watching a TV news report about Liam’s goal, which helped GB to a 5-1 win over Estonia, and the star could barely contain his excitement, pointing out his lad on screen and shouting ‘my boy!’

He captioned the vid: ‘Great Britain thrash Estonia 5-1 in Belfast, with my boy Liam @discostew94 scoring 🏒his first International 🥅 goal!! It brought a tear to my eye, so proud!!’

And Sir Rod’s followers on the picture-sharing app had just as much love for the proud parent.

One posted: ‘Even a rock legend can be a proud Dad.’

Another declared: ‘That’s the sweetest, best thing on ig! 💜💜💜💜💜’

A third added: ‘That’s so awesome!!! You’re such a proud Daddy and I can relate because I’m a very proud Mommy. @sirrodstewart’.

Papa Stewart is father to eight children, including Ruby Stewart from his relationship with model Kelly Emberg, Sean and Kimberly Stewart from his first marriage to Alana Hamilton, Liam’s older sister Renée, and sons Alastair and Aiden Stewart from his current marriage to Penny Lancaster. He is also father to Sarah Streeter, who was born when Rod was just 17 and was raised by adoptive parents.

The iconic star is due to headline this year’s Isle of Wight Festival in June – no doubt making his kids as proud of him as he is of them!
