Singer Sam Smith confirms he's doing the new James Bond theme song after posting a clue on Instagram
Shirley Bassey. Paul McCartney. Tina Turner. Adele.
We’ve all been on the edge of our seats wondering just which lucky guy or gal was going to join this stellar line-up of talent, and put their stamp on the world of James Bond by doing the theme song for latest film, Spectre.
And after much speculation, Sam Smith has confirmed that he’ll be releasing Writing on the Wall for the upcoming 007 film.
After months of speculation, the 23-year-old singer got tongues wagging by posting a black and white close-up pic of his hand, where he was sporting some bling in the form of a silver ring with a certain octopus logo engraved on it. That’s right. It was the Spectre logo.
If that’s not a cryptic clue, we don’t know what is.
Finally confirming that he is doing the theme song for the highly-anticipated upcoming Bond film, Sam said: ‘This is one of the highlights of my career.’
With the style of Bond himself and the voice of a diva – we couldn’t think of anyone better to fit the bill! (oh, and let’s not forget that masterpiece of a quiff as well)
Talking about the new accolade that he can add to his pretty impressive list on his CV, Sam seemed pretty excited about the whole thing, unsurprisingly.
‘I am so excited to be a part of this iconic British legacy and join an incredible line up of some of my biggest musical inspirations.’
Along with Sam Smith, other artists who were rumoured to take up the pretigious role included Ellie Goulding, Radiohead, and even Adele to repraise her role from Skyfall.
Congratulations Sammy boy! We CANNOT wait to her your angelic, dulcet tones work it’s magic on this pretty big deal.
