She wins prestigious music gong

Kylie Minogue celebrated her phenomenal 20-year music career last night at a lavish bash.

The pop princess, 39 – who had her first UK hit in January 1988 with I Should Be So Lucky – was recipient of a prestigious gong from the Music Industry Trust.

She is the first woman to receive the prize in the event’s 16 year history and younger sister Dannii, 36, presented her with the award.

‘I am so proud of you. It’s been an amazing journey and there’s still so much more to come,’ Dannii announced. ‘It’s been great to be there from the beginning.’

Stars including Jamie Cullum and the Scissor Sisters’ Jake Shears were there to toast Kylie’s success at London’s Grosvenor House Hotel.

They also joined the Aussie star on stage to wow the 1,000 guests,

She belted out I Should Be So Lucky with Jamie, 28, on the piano and duetted with Jake, 29, on new single 2 Hearts.
