The singer has been wrangling with mental health issues
Selena Gomez has checked herself into rehab to focus on her mental health.
The singer, who used to go out with pop-superstar Justin Bieber, has started getting treatment after suffering from lupus.
According to US Weekly, she is getting help at a facility near Nashville, Tennessee, as she takes time off from her career.
A source told the magazine: ‘Selena is dealing with lupus, but this break is to focus on her mental health. She can go to a very dark place.’
The place has been described as a ‘private and quite place’ but also ‘super intense’. The singer has taken a break from working on new music and cancelled the last dates on her Revival tour.READ THE LATEST CELEBRITY NEWS
Another source said: ‘She was supposed to be recording, but she hasn’t told anyone when she’ll be back in the studio.’
The star recently opened up about suffering from lupus, which is a chronic autoimmune condition. The side effects include depression, hair loss and lung and heart disease.
Selena Gomez told People magazine: ‘I’ve discovered that anxiety, panic attacks and depression can be side effects of lupus, which can present their own challenges.
‘I want to be proactive and focus on maintaining my health and happiness and have decided that the best way forward is to take some time off.’
We hope the star gets better!
