The band are battered and bruised

Aston Merrygold came scarily close to serious injury in the run-up to JLS‘s 4th Dimension tour.

The band, who kicked off their month-long UK concerts in Liverpool on Tuesday, have revealed that Aston was rushed to hospital when he messed up a backflip during a dress rehearsal and landed on his head.

Fortunately, Aston suffered nothing more serious than a concussion and was allowed to go home after medics checked him out.

But he’s not the only one that’s been hurt.

‘This show really has been blood, sweat and tears…and scratches,’ says JonathanJB’ Gill, 25.

‘We’re all injured.

‘One of our dancers slipped a disc, one had a really bad neck injury and one a knee injury.

‘Then Aston fell on his head, which was pretty nasty.’

Although Marvin Humes says he’s got ‘bruises and scratches all over his body’, it seems Aston, 24, has suffered the worst.

Aston also nearly drowned during one of the water stunts,’ Marvin, 26, tells the Daily Mirror.

‘Our lives have definitely been at risk.’
