Simon Cowell is planning to unveil the new X Factor judges line-up THIS WEEK!

Simon Cowell has hinted he could finally reveal the new X Factor judges line-up as soon as THIS WEEK!

The music mogul says he finally has a ‘shortlist’ of celebrities for the job and refused to rule out a big return for previous judge Tulisa Contostavlos.

Sources tell Now that BBC Radio 1 DJ Nick Grimshaw will almost definitely be joining the panel – alongside Cheryl and Simon.

But there is still intense speculation over who could fill the final fourth chair. A number of names have been in the frame including One Direction‘s Louis Tomlinson, Robbie Williams, Dannii Minogue and even Simon’s Britain’s Got Talent co-judge David Walliams.

Speaking at charity event Together For Short Lives in London last night however Simon, 55, was keen to clarify gossip about the comedian joining the ITV1 singing contest.

Simon said David would be a ‘terrible fourth judge’ before adding: ‘I can confirm that would never never happen.’

That’s pretty definitive then!

The X Factor is due to return to our screens this autumn with new hosts Olly Murs and Caroline Flack replacing presenter Dermot O’Leary. The final presenters for spin-off show The Xtra Factor have not been confirmed either yet, although Sarah-Jane Crawford who presented the show last year will definitely not be returning.

Now recently revealed that Simon had secretly audition YouTube blogger Jim Chapman for the role, along with Zoella’s brother Joe Sugg.

‘I have been for a couple of castings already,’ Jim, who is engaged to beauty vlogger Tanya Burr, exclusively told us at Radio 1’s Big Weekend. ‘I went along with [Zoella’s brother] Joe Sugg, but I don’t think they’d cast us together.’
