Move over Mystic Meg - Simon Cowell knows who we should be putting our money on for The X Factor victory
We all saw the moment a couple of weeks ago, when Simon Cowell dramatically turned to his fellow judges, holding up a photo of one of this year’s contestants and declaring: ‘You’re looking at the winner of The X Factor’. Well, now we can reveal exactly who he was talking about.
Speaking to Now at The Mirror’s Pride Of Britain Awards last week he told us: ‘Louisa is the winner. Absolutely. Definitely. It’s her voice.’
Essex-born Louisa Johnson first impressed the judges on the ITV show with her belting version of Michael Jackson’s Who’s Lovin’ You in the audition stages and went on to secure her place in the six-chair challenge with a stunning rendition of Sam Smith’s Lay Me Down.
The 17-year-old’s performance clearly enchanted the X Factor judges, who were all left beaming as she left the stage. Cheryl Fernandez-Versini, 32, turned to Simon and whispered: ‘She’s so cute. All you have to do is open the gate and let her go.’
Already the bookies’ favourite to win the show, Louisa suffered crippling nerves during the early stages of the contest. But talking to a clearly impressed Caroline Flack and Olly Murs after her bootcamp performance, the teenager gushed: ‘Whenever I sing I just go blank. I just go into my own little world and I don’t really remember what I was thinking, but wherever I was it was amazing.’
But Louisa isn’t the only one tipped to make it through to the X Factor live shows. When we complimented Simon on his controversial beard, the 55-year-old cheekily told us: ‘I’m keeping it, then’.
Glad to hear it, Simon!
