Sheridan Smith confirms she’s enjoying singledom in a series of now-deleted messages on Twitter
Sheridan Smith has seen her love life play out on Twitter a lot this year and now it seems that it’s happened again.
The actress, 34, was said to be dating Andy Hopkins from rock band The Enemy but has made it clear that she’s no longer seeing anyone in a series of now-deleted Tweets.
Yep, just weeks after they apparently got together, Sheridan Tweeted over the weekend: ‘Single!!!! :)))) bring on funny girl, who’s coming???!! Can’t wait xxx’
After a fan asked in response ‘your not single?’, Sheridan reaffirmed her point.
‘I sure am :)bye boys!! X,’ the Lincolnshire-born star – who is set to play Fanny Brice in the musical Funny Girl when the show opens in London in December – cryptically wrote.
Despite later erasing the messages, Sheridan soon took to Twitter again to thank her loyal supporters for sticking by her.
Sheridan Smith was first linked to Andy just a few weeks ago, with The Sun reporting that she direct messaged him on Twitter.
‘He was still getting over his last relationship so said no at first, but she was persistent,’ a source said.
‘She kept messaging him on Twitter and by text and he eventually agreed to meet up. Straight away there was chemistry and they went on a number of dates.’
Neither Sheridan or Andy have spoken about the speculation but Sheridan was happy to call The Enemy her ‘friends’ when she Tweeted about their new track last month.
It comes after the award-winning star dropped hints about the end of her relationship with Hollyoaks star Greg Wood using the social media site in July. She posted a string of mysterious Tweets including: ‘Just been hurt by a idiot boy again but not gonna lower myself to his standards’
The messages were later deleted.
It looks like Sheridan and Greg are on good terms though. Greg sent a supportive message to Sheridan this morning in response to her recent Tweet about her ‘shock’ at being nominated for an International Emmy Award…
Sheridan favourited Greg’s Tweet too. We’ll be keeping our eyes peeled for further updates on this!
