Chez is said to be hitting the studio - and we can't wait!
But after almost a year away from the spotlight, we have to admit we’re kind of missing the former Girls Aloud singer and her Geordie charm from our telly screens.
Which is why we were SO excited to hear that the 33-year-old could be releasing some new music THIS year, with sources claiming she’s working on a ‘new sound’.
It seems that the X Factor star isn’t going to let her One Direction BF have all the musical fun and will be hitting the studio in the coming weeks, according to an insider.
‘Cheryl met with her label to discuss ideas for songs and to plan a new sound,’ a source told The Mirror.
‘It went really well and she is going to be meeting with producers next month before she heads into the studio for some early sessions.
‘She hopes to have some music out at the end of the year but realistically it will be early next year.’
Despite it being a whole three years since the Fight For This Love hit-maker last released some new music, apparently Chezza is keen to make her epic return with ‘big pop songs’ with a ‘strong visual element’.
The source said: ‘There will be a lot of choreography, like with her biggest hits Fight For This Love and Call My Name.’
And no doubt her new album will involve some tracks inspired by motherhood and son Bear, as the source added: ‘She did initially start recording songs early last year but they have been ditched as she is a different person now.’
But Chez isn’t the only one working on her big comeback to the music industry, as other half Liam has also been busy promoting his debut solo single Strip That Down.
The 1D star took to Twitter to share a 35-second snippet of the funky track, and also revealed the release date by simply writing: ‘Mad excited to announce my new single Strip That Down ft. @quavostuntin out May 19th #STRIPTHATDOWN’.
So could these two be fighting for the chart top-spot later this year? After months of secrecy, we think Chiam musical domination is only right.
