Harsh words from the Spice Girl...

Mel C has revealed the real reason why she would never take part in Strictly Come Dancing, despite it being her favourite of the reality shows: the PAY!

Since shooting to super-stardom in Spice Girls in the 90s, Sporty Spice has avoided all kinds of reality shows (not that she needs to do them anyway…). But, even though she likes a bit of Strictly, they can’t pay her enough.

The 42-year-old told the Daily Star: ‘Strictly is really the only one of those shows that I would consider and I have had a meeting with them. They ask me every year to do it.

‘The problem is if you do Strictly it’s so high profile and you’ll find yourself in the sidebar of shame every day.

‘And the money is s**t!’

That’s two perfectly valid reasons not to get involved in one of the most successful reality shows of all time. Come on BBC, you can fork out a bit more for a Spice Girl.

Her Spice Girls co-stars aren’t strangers to that glittery dance floor – and they’ve been successful. Mel B appeared on the American counterpart Dancing With the Stars in 2007 and came second place, with Indy 500 driver Helio Castroneves taking the gold.

Meanwhile, in 2006, Emma Bunton came third on UK Strictly, beaten by England cricketer Mark Ramprakash.

We all want to see Mel C on the dance floor – imagine HER argument with Craig Revel Horwood – but she needs to be fully committed to enter. Otherwise you get a Will Young leaving situation. So, BBC, get that cheque book out!
