Ginger Spice Geri Horner and former Girls Aloud star Kimberley Walsh will be amongst the stars taking part in a special four-part Great British Bake Off charity special
It’s an age-old question – who’s better: Girls Aloud or the Spice Girls? Well, now it could be settled once and for all in the Great British Bake Off kitchen as two of their members go head to head in the celebrity special!
Geri Horner (nee Halliwell, obvs) and Kimberley Walsh are amongst the names to be announced by the BBC this morning as part of the line-up for next year’s charity mini-series of the hit baking show.
Ginger Spice will be cooking up all things nice alongside the former Girls Aloud star for the four-part series set to be screened early next year ahead of Sports Relief in March, and we’re already imagining what their showstoppers might be: Wanna-brioche? (Sound of the Under) Ground Almond Cake?
Sixteen stars have signed up for the show, with other famous faces including pop star Will Young, Prime Minister’s wife Samantha Cameron, and the lovely Louise Redknapp. Erm, amazing!
They’ll be joined by comedian Jason Manford, BBC journalist John Simpson, actors Ade Edmondson and Alison Steadman, and former politician Ed Balls
Former footballers David James, Chris Kamara and Jermaine Jenas, EastEnders actress Maddy Hill, The Morgana Show’s Morgana Robinson and writer-slash-pro-poker-player Victoria Coren-Mitchell complete the line-up.
We can barely wait to see them let lose in the GBBO kitchen!
Bake Off faves Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood will be back to pass judgement on the celebrities’ efforts, whilst Mel Giedroyc – but sadly not Sue Perkins – will be on hosting duty.
Mel will front one of the four shows, with Jennifer Saunders, Sarah Millican and Ed Byrne heading up the others.
Sport Relief is on from Friday 18 March to Sunday 20 March.
