As the final two Strictly Come Dancing contestants are announced, we take a look at the odds

Strictly Come Dancing fans can officially get excited about the news series as the full line-up is now complete – yay!

Iwan Thomas and Kirsty Gallacher were announced as the final contestants to join the show last night after being unveiled together on The One Show and both bring a sporting edge to the competition.

Kirsty, 39, is a presenter on Sky Sports News and comes from an athletic background as her dad is former golf star Bernard Gallacher.

‘Sport and fitness have always been a big part of my life but dancing is an entirely new challenge for me. I can’t wait to get started,’ she said about appearing on the programme.

Iwan, 41, has a similarly sporty background. He used to be a sprinter and won plenty of medals throughout his career, plus he still holds the British 400m record.

Nowadays Iwan is a presenter and hosts a show covering Moto GP on BT Sport.

‘I love watching the show and I can’t believe I’m swapping my running spikes for dancing shoes,’ he said, ‘I used to be quick at running around the track and I’m just hoping my dance partner doesn’t leave me behind.’

Kirsty and Iwan complete this year’s line-up of the 15 celebrities heading to the dance floor – but who could walk away with the glitter ball trophy this year?

Peter Andre is currently the bookies’ favourite to win and it certainly sounds promising for him – Strictly pro Gleb Savchenko has said that the singer is ‘killing it already’. Eek, we can’t wait to see you strutting your stuff Pete!

Paddy Power has Pete down as 9/2 favourite, with The Wanted star Jay McGuiness and latest addition Kirsty following closely behind on 6/1.

Poor Carol Kirkwood and Anita Rani are down as least likely to win. Both have odds of 33/1 to scoop the trophy – awww, we still believe in you, ladies!

Here’s the odds in full:

Peter Andre – 9/2

Jay McGuiness – 6/1

Kirsty Gallacher – 6/1

Georgia May Foote – 7/1

Helen George – 7/1

Iwan Thomas – 8/1

Jamelia – 8/1

Daniel O’Donnell – 8/1

Ainsley Harriott – 10/1

Anthony Ogogo – 12/1

Kellie Bright – 20/1

Katie Derham – 25/1

Jeremy Vine – 25/1

Anita Rani – 33/1

Carol Kirkwood – 33/1

P.S. If you have no idea how betting odds work, Paddy Power can explain.
