Our favourite dancing show, Strictly Come Dancing, is coming to an end this weekend – sob – here are this year’s best bits

This year’s Strictly Come Dancing has been bloody brilliant. And we are already in massive withdrawals that it’s almost over. What will we DO without it? (Oh, wait, there’s a special episode on Christmas Day! Phew).

From dancers like Ola Jordan and Kristina Rihanoff breaking ranks to slam the show behind the scenes to the introduction of the BEAUTIFUL Gleb Savchenko (more on him later), loads of the drama this year has surrounded the pro dancers.

But we can’t forget Peter Andre in his tight satin shirts and Jeremy Vine’s snake hips, either… here are our top eight moments from this year’s series.

  1. Gleb Savchenko’s impromptu shirt-ripping

Well, we would too if we had a body like that. And seeing as we’re not Gleb, we just get to drool over him. Thank you, producers, for introducing this Russian god into our lives. He’s been one of the main pulls of this year’s show – and we’re obsessed.

2. Jay McGuinness’s Pulp Fiction jive gets a 10

Aside from rumours that he’s been doing a bit of flirting with pro partner Aliona Vilani (which the pair have stringently denied), Jay’s fancy footwork has amazed us, most of all this jive that got the first 10 of the series – after just three weeks. He’s one of the favourites to win this weekend.

3. Did Anton Du Beke mouth that Peter Andre’s dancing is awful?

Looks like he did to partner Katie Derham in this clip. Miaow!

4. Kellie Bright’s Oom Pah Pah

We LOVED when Queen Vic landlady Kellie did her very best Nancy from Oliver during musicals week and had a right old knees-up doing the Viennese Waltz. We’ve never seen anything like it!

5. Peter Andre’s Charleston

Poor Pete bowed out of the competition earlier than we thought he would, finishing in seventh place. But he scored two 10s for his Charleston with partner Janette Manrara – which was pretty much perfection.

6. Jeremy Vine’s snake hips

OK, so Jeremy was never going to win, but he showed some surprising hip action on the show and had us in stitches, too. And isn’t that sometimes the point?

7. Bruno swears live on air

Trust judge Bruno Toniolo to put his foot in it. He dubbed Jay McGuinness’s dancing the Paso Doble as “the bull’s bollocks.” Oops! Tess Daley immediately stepped in and said: “I’d like to apologise for Bruno’s choice of words there. He seemed to get carried away.” We wish there was more accidental swearing on X Factor…

8. When Gleb dressed as a prison officer

We’ll leave you with this one – where Gleb dressed like THIS to do the Argentine Tango with partner Anita Rani. If prison is this sexy, please handcuff us now, etc, etc. Told you that you’re going to miss Strictly now it’s almost over…
