The Wanted star lifted the Glitterball Trophy on Saturday night - and some Strictly Come Dancing fans weren't too happy about it...

So, Jay McGuiness is 2015’s Strictly Come Dancing champion! But not everyone is doing cartwheels over the news…

Strictly fans have once again cried ‘fix’ after The Wanted star was announced as the winner during Saturday night’s live final.

Jay beat EastEnders actress Kellie Bright and former Corrie star Georgia May Foote to lift the Glitterball Trophy with his dance partner Aliona Vilani, despite failing to impress judges Len Goodman, Darcey Bussell, Bruno Tonioli and Craig Revel Horwood on the night.

Kellie was the panel’s favourite, topping the leaderboard after being awarded a perfect score of 40 TWICE from the judges – once for her and partner Kevin Clifton‘s cheeky Tango, and again for her incredible show dance.

Meanwhile Jay found himself bottom of the pile, failing to score a single 10 – something both Kellie and Georgia achieved.

However the judges scores meant nothing in the final, with the result completely down to the public’s votes, and thus a somewhat underwhelmed Jay was named the winner.

And fans quickly took to Twitter to express their shock at the result.

One write: ‘#fix not happy. Kellie should have won #strictly. Not paying my fees next year 😣’

Another added: ‘Total fix, can’t believe Jay won. #Raging #Strictly

It’s not the first time this series that Strictly has faced accusations of being fixed.

Last week, head judge Len was forced to label fix claims ‘daft’ after Anita Rani‘s shock exit from the BBC show during last weekend’s semi-final.

Appearing on This Morning, Len insisted that he’s never been told what to say or who to vote for by Strictly producers – and made it clear that he wouldn’t be happy if that was the case.

‘Listen, I’ve judged the World Championships,’ he said. Do you think if a producer come up to me [and said], ‘Oi, Len, we really want so and so to get…’ [shakes head]

‘Well, you can imagine what I’d tell them! And it wouldn’t happen… it’s just absolutely daft.’

Host Tess Daly also waded into the debate, saying: ‘There is no fix. This is not an issue, it is just an absolute nonsense.’

What do you think?

Gutted that won. Was convinced it would be between the girls. Put in 6 online votes for Kellie. Popularity won rather than dancing
