The Liberty X singer could waltz off with the glitterball after reports she's signed up for Strictly Come Dancing with Peter Andre this year...

Michelle Heaton is preparing to impress Craig Revel-Horwood on BBC1’s Strictly Come Dancing, according to The Sun.

The Liberty X singer is known for her popstar moves in PVC with a cane in the Just A Little Bit video but is getting ready to slip into some satin and glide across the dancefloor with one of the Strictly professionals this autumn.

According to The Sun, ‘The bosses were struck by Michelle’s story and enthusiasm for the show.’

Michelle, 35, had a double mastectomy in 2012 after being told she had the faulty BRCA2 gene with increased her chance of developing breast cancer to 80 per cent. Last year, she had a full hysterectomy to prevent ovarian cancer and now takes hormones to help with menopause symptoms.

‘I think Strictly’s every girl’s dream to do a show that makes you feel really glamorous and special,’ Michelle said earlier this year. ‘And the last few years have been really rough so it’d be really nice to feel womanly again and do something positive and learn a craft.’

‘I think I have a rather slim chance because everyone wants to do it but you never know,’ she added.

And when it comes to her dance partner, Michelle has her sights set on a certain Strictly Come Dancing gent.

‘I’d quite like Anton du Beke,’ she’s said. ‘I think he’s really underrated. I think he’s so good and I’d love him to have a partner one year that gets him to the final. I was never a dancer per say, I never did dancing as a thing.’

Michelle is no stranger to reality TV. She’s previously appeared on Celebrity Big Brother in 2009, The Big Reunion with her Liberty X bandmates and a three-part show, Michelle and Andy’s Big Day, about her first wedding to Andy Scott-Lee.

Michelle and gorgeous husband Hugh Hanley most recently took part in Seven Days With… where we got to see just how loved-up the couple are at home with their two children Faith, three, and Aaron, one.

Other names rumoured to be taking part in Strictly Come Dancing this year include Peter Andre, Richard Madeley, Tom Ellis, Alan Titchmarsh, Sarah Jane Crawford and EastEnders’ Shane Richie.
