Strictly Come Dancing star Laura Whitmore speaks out

BBC show Strictly Come Dancing is plagued by romance gossip every year, and 2016 has been no different. In fact, prior to the latest series even starting, TV Presenter Laura Whitmore found herself in a love triangle with dance partner Giovanni Pernice and his ex, Georgia May Foote. Georgia and Giovanni were partners on last year’s Strictly, dancing their way right through to the final, and embarking on a romantic relationship in the process.

Now though, Ms Whitmore, 31, has spoken out about the rumours.

Did Laura Whitmore just reveal Strictly isn’t as live as we think?

Addressing the fact that she was partnered with Giovanni in this year’s series, Laura explained: ‘It’s not fair. You don’t get to choose your partner; that’s not the dancer’s decision.’

She also quashed any suggestions that Strictly producers had conveniently paired the two together.

Laura said: ‘You can’t put two people together and say: ‘that’s gonna be a thing’. There has to be an attraction there.’

Clearly Laura finds no attraction in Giovanni (although we’re baffled as to why!).

Adding to this, Laura revealed to Women’s Health magazine that every contestant ‘gets it at some stage’. I think Daisy Lowe would have got it if she was dancing with Giovanni. Daisy gets it with Alijaz anyway,’ she explained.

Laura is the latest celebrity to have been voted off Strictly following Saturday night’s Samba performance, causing the blonde beauty to break down in tears during Strictly’s follow-up show, It Takes Two.

Contestants still in the running for the infamous Glitterball include Daisy Lowe, Greg Rutherford and politician Ed Balls.

Laura also touched on the photo that saw her ‘getting cosy’ with Leonardo DiCaprio at this year’s BAFTA after-party. Speaking to the health magazine, she admitted: ‘My job is to interview musicians and actors. Of course there’s going to be pictures of me with them and some are my friends.’
