OMG! Taylor Swift fans go crazy for a track of white noise...
What?! Just when you thought the world couldn’t go any crazier for Taylor Swift it has. She’s now selling empty nothingness!
With Canadian fans got hyped for her new album, 1989, out on Monday, so many of them downloaded a track of eight seconds of white noise and it got to number one in the iTunes chart in Canada!
Due to a glitch in the system, the mysterious Track 3 was available for purchase and the few seconds of silence was an immediate hit until it was removed.
With her popularity at an all time high as she leaves country music behind for some pure pop, it seems Taylor could hit the top of the charts with a fart these days!
Her new record is rumoured to be on it’s way to smashing a million copies sold in the first week. No new title has cracked the one-million-sales mark in a week so far this year, but her last two records – Red and Speak Now – did. That’s a lot of dollars to spend on cute shorts and cat treats, hey Tay?
Olly said Taylor should, ‘write something new that isn’t about Harry, Bless him, it’s been like two years and he’s still getting lashed out, isn’t he?’
Awkward! Olly has since apologised to Taylor and explained his was joking. But Taylor had a few things to say about his views…
‘No-one says that about Ed Sheeran. No-one says that about Bruno Mars. They’re all writing songs about their exes, their current girlfriends, their love life and no-one raises a red flag there,’ she said this week. ‘Frankly, that is a very sexist angle to take. I have a really strict personal policy that I never name names. So anybody saying that a song is about a specific person is purely speculating.’
And best mate Ed agreed with her saying, ‘She’s right man, she gets a tougher rap than other people. No one talks about Bruno Mars or my lyrics like that.’ No they don’t, Ed, you wise man.
Ms Swift, time to listen to your own advice and shake it off…
