Strictly’s Tess doesn't boss her man around

As the host of Strictly Come Dancing, Tess Daly‘s become one of the most popular TV stars in the country.

Tess, who looks younger than her 43 years, is intensely private. But in our exclusive interview, it’s obvious how much she’s in love with presenter husband Vernon Kay, 40.

Mum and dad to Phoebe, 7, and Amber, 2, the couple always find time for family life.

‘We’re always juggling. It’s tough. At the end of the day, your kids are always going to come first when you’re a working mum,’ Tess tells Now’s Dan Wootton.

‘There’s definitely compromise. You have to.

‘There are jobs we have to say no to so that we can be there for the important times in our children’s lives.

‘It’s the eternal juggling act. Between Vernon and me, we’re there for every school run. So far we’ve done pretty good.’

Vern and Tess co-hosted Just The Two Of Us together a few years back and are even thinking about working together again.

‘There’s definitely a big possibility – if Vernon behaves himself and lets me boss him around at work!’ says Tess.

‘I won’t let him be late and that sort of thing. But we really enjoyed it last time. It’s great when you don’t have to work on your chemistry.’

So is Tess the bossy one at home? Does she wear the pants?

‘No, no, no! I don’t wear the pants. Vernon wouldn’t let me get away with that. I’m not bossy, but I do know what I like.
