X Factor 2015 runners-up Reggie N Bollie's journey through the competition
With their African-influenced musical style, infectious upbeat attitude and awesome dance moves, two piece act Reggie ‘N’ Bollie – which stands for Best Of Lyrical Lies and Entertainment, in case you didn’t know – have sung and danced their way into the British public’s hearts on this year’s series of The X Factor.
Originally known as Menn On Point, the best mates – who originate from Ghana but now live in the UK – set a precedent for raising the roof from their very first audition, singing an original number that originally had the judges rolling their eyes – but soon had them bopping in their seats.
Having made us LOL by claiming ‘we came prepared, we can’t be scared, and we’re in it to win it’ (such lyrical geniuses!), they stormed through the Six Chair Challenge with their rendition of Cheerleader, and then through Judges’ Houses with the Chaka Demus & Pliers song Twist and Shout – all the way to the live shows.
Their high-energy performances always had everyone up on their feet – including mentor Cheryl Fernandez-Versini, who jumped up from her judging chair to ‘whip nae nae’ with them on stage during their performance of global mega-hit Watch Me in week five!
In last week’s semi-final, their take on Locked Away by R City and Adam Levine got mixed reviews, but their mashup of Black Eyed Peas’ I Gotta Feeling and I Like I To Move It brought the party atmosphere back – and they headed straight through to the grand final, whilst Che Chesterman and Lauren Murray battled it out in the bottom two.
The party vibe was somewhat soured ahead of the final at Wembley when the pair’s wives had an alleged bust-up on their battle bus, with The Mirror claiming that Reggie’s wife Edith shouted at Bollie’s wife Mira, pointing a finger in her face, saying: ‘Don’t ever talk to me like that again. Don’t ever speak to me like that. Especially not in front of other people’ with the two families reportedly having to be separated on either side of the coach.
However, reported family drama aside, the duo still managed to party all the way to Sunday night’s grand finale where they came second place behind Louisa Johnson.
We can’t wait to see what the lads do next!
